MY Nokia X200 Review

Nokia X200 is feature packed budget phone from Nokia
I bought it in July 2011 at a price of Rs.4600 along with a 2 GB memory card in Mumbai
This phone is known for its 5MP camera
Since I have been using this phone from last one year I thought of giving you a review

1. Phone features a 5Mp camera
X2 camera very large images due to its high resolution. Images are good in bright day light. And you get no image during night due to the lack of night mode
Camera also has a flash. But the flash is of no use at long distances. Flash is powerful as it is meant to double up as Flashlight or torch.
Due to very powerful Flash the image gets ruined (the problem is fixed here)
Also if you take many images at one time the Phone freezes (theproblem is fixed here)

2. Hardware is strong (like many Nokia Phones)
Keypad is good and easy to use
Music keys on the side are great
The Phone speakers are quite loud.
Much time the music keys get pressed accidentally leading to a surprise and embarrassing loud music noise from the phone.
Also the camera key on the side of the phone gets accidentally pressed during a call.
The Metal finish of the phone gives it a stunning look
The phones FM Radio as an inbuilt antenna
The battery life of the phone is good

3.Phone has Nokia's S40 software

4. Phone needs to be updated
When I purchased the phone back in 2011, it was version 4.9 and it needed to updated read the guide for updating the phone here

Other Nokia X200 or Nokia s40 Articles:

Hiding Files and Folders in Nokia X200 or any Nokia S40 phone

Well Nokia x2 00 has two main preloaded applications in its main menu
1. Photos
2. Music
The Photos app will show all the images on your memory card at this one place
The Music app will show all the music files and video files on your memory card here
Now many a times we want to hide our personal files from other people

What we can do about it
1. Do not give the phone to other people
But sometimes someone close to us, a friend or a cousin may ask for the phone and it may sound rude to not give the phone
2. Put a security Guard on the phone
It is one of the best ways to guard your phone by simply putting a key guard security. But again the above reason stands true
3. Hiding the Folders on the Memory Card
But still they will be visible in Photos and Music Applications
4. Hiding the Files so that they are completely inaccessible

Hiding the Folders on the Memory Card

1. Create a folder named ABCD.jad (or anyname.jad)
2. Put the files you want to hide in this folder
3. Create a folder named ABCD.jar (or anyname.jar)
4. That’s it the ABCD.jad folder and files in it will not be visible anymore
5. To access the folder back rename ABCD.jar to ABCD.jara (or .ja or .j or anything but not .jar)
6. But these files will still be accessible in the Photos and Music Applications.

Nokia X2 Camera Image Capture Problems: Nokia X200 flash is too bright and spoils the Image

Nokia X200 has a 5MP camera
Note 5MP denotes the number of pixels a image has
Nokia X2 also has a flash light to enhance your  Image
But you may notice that the flash spoils the image
1. It because the flash is too bright as it is meant  doubles up as a torch light
2. Because there is a plastic cover on the lens and camera which spreads the light from the flash on to the image

Solutions
Now many of you may be vary of removing the cover as it may end up giving scratches on the lens (which is really very bad)
So what I did is I used a paper cutter and cut out the lens cover from the flash light and kept the cover on the camera lens as it is
In this manner the problem was solved and even the camera lens won’t get any scratches

Nokia X2 Camera Image Capture Problems: Nokia X2-00 is freezing while capturing many photos at a time

Nokia X200 has a 5Mp camera
Note 5MP denote the number of pixels a image has.
Now since the camera capture the image at 5MP it results in creation of a very large file
After you capture an image you end up with an Image.nrw file this is nothing but the raw image
It is the raw dump of capture image and hence it is very large in size about 5Mb
After the raw file is created the phone starts to compress it in to a .jpg file of about 1mb. This requires processing power from phone
Now if you click many photos at a time it will lead to many raw images being processed at the same time and hence majority of the processing power is consumed here
And now if you click a new photo it tends to take a lot time to save
We don’t have any solution to this
May be you can try to
1. Reduce the image resolution
2. Wait for a few seconds before taking every new image.

Nokia X200 Video Problems

We find than Video Playback quality is acceptable but audio quality is poor and below standards
Many People who have Nokia x2 complain of having good video quality but bad audio quality
This can be fixed
Nokia X200 supports two video Formats .mp4 and .3gp
Generally quality of .mp4 is better than .3gp and size of the .mp4 is more than .3gp
I convert the videos on my pc and transfer it to my phone
I use the following setting for better audio playback (and lower video size)
I use .mp4 for files I watch the most and I like and .3gp for other files
I use ImToo video converter you may use any other video convertor Find and adjust these settings and save them as a new Profile/template for future use
